Apple announces iOS 17, Apple Vision Pro at WWDC23, among others
On Monday, Apple held its annual Worldwide Developers Conference, an event geared towards developers who produce software for their products. Each June, Apple announces upcoming updates to softwares and operating systems including iOS, iPadOS and MacOS. This year, Apple also took the opportunity to announce new hardware, including new Mac models and an all-new augmented reality headset called Apple Vision Pro.
According to an independent study by Jamf, a device management company, 71% of students enrolled in higher education that were polled either currently use or would prefer to use a Mac if initial cost were not a consideration. With macOS serving as the preferred operating system for over two-thirds of undergraduate students in the U.S., the software and hardware released at Monday’s conference could impact a large portion of the University student body.
Apple seemed to be playing into this statistic with its most recent event, showing off reasons to switch to Mac or other Apple devices.
