iPadOS 17

Widgets on iPad are now interactive, meaning users no longer have to open an app to perform a task like checking something off of their to-do list — they can check off the item directly from the widget.

The lock screen on iPad is now customizable, a feature that already exists on iPhone. Users have the ability to add widgets to the left side of the display for quick information and actions.

Users will no longer be limited to just one timer.

The Health app is now available on iPad and the app’s data will sync between all Apple devices.

Currently, PDF support is somewhat limited in iPadOS. However, with iPadOS 17, users will have access to significantly more features.

iPad will automatically recognize spots on a PDF that need to be filled in with information provided by the user, which is useful for tasks like filling out forms. Users can also save a signature for future uses.

The Notes app now features better support for PDF documents as well. PDFs will now be accessible directly from a note, meaning users no longer have to click into the documents to annotate them or make changes.

Notes now features Live Collaboration, which allows users to see exactly what collaborators are doing in real time.

Stage Manager receives updates to how windows function as well.

The developer beta for this software became available on Monday and public betas will be available in July. The update will be available to all users in the fall.
