Jenna Bush Hager, former president George W. Bush’s daughter, will be coming C-U to speak at a fundraising event on July 9.
Hager will be the guest speaker at the Canaan Development Foundation’s Gala 2010, which will be at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 500 S. Goodwin Ave.
“We wanted a younger person who is doing something for people in inner cities,” said Larine Cowan, co-chair of the event. Hager is a teacher in Baltimore.
Cowarn said Hager accepted their offer right away and is looking forward to the visit. She said the foundation does not release the amount paid for a speaker’s fee.
Hager will be speaking about making a difference and how the power of compassion changes lives, Cowan added.
