Eligibility
Any student studying at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is encouraged to apply, with the exception of second-semester seniors. You do not have to be pursuing a journalism-related degree to apply.
We’re looking for reporters, writers, photographers, videographers, designers, social media personnel, website developers, data analysts and more!
Entry-level positions are unpaid internships, however we offer paid positions for editors and assistants.
Application Process
- Fill out an application below (Once made available).
- Our editorial team will review all applications and contact applicants regarding decisions.
- Selected applicants will complete required trainings, including a mandatory ethics training for all new hires.
- Once training is completed, the next step is to fill out all necessary paperwork, found at the front desk of the Illini Media office.
- Executive editors will process your paperwork and assign you access to your Illini Media Company Google and Slack accounts.
- Complete section specific trainings, which may include additional meetings, quizzes, etc.
