This is the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Recently, the Senate passed a Moment of Remembrance resolution to honor victims of the terrorist attack. The resolution calls for all to stop and remember the tragic day by sounding bells and sirens throughout the community.
The Champaign Board and Champaign County Emergency Management Agency encourage all fire departments, churches, police departments and houses of worship to make some noise on this day for one minute at 12 p.m.
Afterward, the community will host a remembrance event at the Champaign Counry Courthouse Plaza by 2 p.m. on that day.
