For students eager to meet with professionals in their field of study, the LAS Career Exploration Night will be an available opportunity to network with distinguished alumni. The event will take place tonight from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. at the Illini Union Rooms A, B, C and South Lounge. An i-Card is required for admission.

There will be a resume writing and critiquing workshop from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Rooms 404 and 406 of the Illini Union.

Around 70 alumni from all types of careers will be present to share about their success and the steps they took throughout college and after graduation that helped them arrive at their jobs.

Some of the reasons students may want to attend including finding out how others landed their first job, asking about the pros and cons of different jobs, learning what skills are in demand and how to prepare academically, discovering the unexpected options available to one’s degree, receiving tips on how to prepare a resume and gaining practice for the All-Campus Career Fair in the spring.

Throughout the night, raffles prizes will be available, including an Apple iPad2. Winners must be present.
