Oasis, one of the most popular British bands of the 1990s, has announced their reunion with a 2025 tour after a 15-year break. The band was part of the 90’s Brit-pop wave that featured bands like Blur and Pulp.
Liam and Noel Gallagher, the minds behind the successful Brit-pop band, have decided to put their bad blood behind them. According to Radio X, the brotherly feud began during their 1994 Whiskey A Go Go performance in Los Angeles, when Liam Gallagher started to yell insults at the band. He eventually threw a tambourine at Noel Gallagher, causing him to storm off stage.
The band’s history follows with both brothers pulling out from gigs, increasingly evident they were in avoidance of something big. The brothers hinted at their feud as they were often recorded saying harsh words about each other during interviews.
“He’s the angriest man you’ll ever meet,” Liam Gallagher said in an interview with Q. “He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”
Since the band’s final performance in 2009, there has been radio silence with the possibility of a reunion — until Aug. 27.

The brothers went to X on Monday to tease a preview of their announcement. A video flashed the date “27.08.24” with the band’s logo. Oasis later went on to post that the band would be getting back together for a 2025 reunion tour.
“This is it, this is happening,” Oasis said on X.
According to the announcement, Oasis will play 14 shows in Ireland and the United Kingdom, including four shows in the band’s home city of Manchester.
It is expected that the Oasis tour will sell out after Blur’s recent performance sold all 90,000 tickets during their two-night performance at Wembley Stadium. Similarly, The Stone Roses also went viral for the debut of their reunion announcement back in 2012 after a 16-year hiatus.
This highly anticipated message was expected after recent interviews included Noel Gallagher highlighting his brother as “a good songwriter.” With both brothers active in their own music and bands, such as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, a reunion has seemingly been in the works for some time. According to The Independent, sources close to the band have confirmed that Liam Gallagher was always keen on the idea.
“I would prefer to be in a band, and we should never ever have split up,” Liam Gallagher said in a 2017 interview.
