From collage-making nights to “Heated Rivalry” dance parties, Urbana’s Gallery Art Bar has something for everyone looking for a night out.
At 119 W. Main St., patrons 18 and older are welcome Tuesday through Saturday to take part in a number of events. These events include “brat nights” that host popular local DJs and also calmer events like open-mic poetry.
Gallery-goers can enjoy both classic and craft cocktails, all of which can be made zero-proof. Aside from drinks, Gallery Art Bar’s menu includes dessert and coffee options. With a large patio in the back, the venue is the perfect place to spend your Saturdays during periods of warmer weather.
Gallery Art Bar offers a safe space for queer students and locals in the area, working closely with the queer Champaign-Urbana community to host popular events. A standout has been its “Gaybar” series — a former C-U house show venue turned traveling queer space.
A great space for both locals and students, Gallery Art Bar is a hub for proper nightlife on the quieter side of town.
