Salt & Light is a spot in Champaign-Urbana where you can pick up statement pieces while even benefiting the local community.
Volunteers run the store, process donations, stock shelves and manage jewelry racks. Salt & Light is home not just to clothing staples like T-shirts, pants and shoes but also a multitude of antiques and collectibles. You can even find furniture and other household essentials here.
The warehouse-like style of the store, with its arrays of clothes, groceries and other items, streamlines the thrifting experience, allowing you to build the perfect outfit while perusing the aisles. With low prices, these items are accessible to students and community members alike. The store also offers weekly specials.
Through its store, Salt & Light gives 100% of its proceeds to support mobile health clinics, groceries, tax assistance and technology services, among other anti-poverty efforts.
Salt & Light has locations in both Urbana and Champaign, with the Champaign venue only accepting drop-off donations. The store in Urbana is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily for any last-minute needs, with alternative timings on Sundays, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
