The Wood Floaters: Film Screening

A screening of the documentary film “The Wood Floaters” (“Platagony”) followed by a discussion with the director Kirill Makarenkov. Platagony (also translated as ‘rafters’) are men employed in the transport of lumber from the outermost forests of Russia to the processing plants nearer to populated areas. Kirill Makarenkov’s documentary is an intimate portrait of these workers.
