On Friday, Lollapalooza crowds packed in near the Bud Light stage to see Sexyy Red perform. The crowd donned Sexyy Red hats and t-shirts, eager to see their “hood princess” perform.
Sexyy Red rose to fame with her 2023 hit song “Pound Town,” attracting the attention of youth on social media and standing out from other rappers with her unashamed parade of female sexuality.
“If you f— with big Sexyy let me here you make some motherf—— noise,” said the DJ who took the stage before Sexyy Red, hyping up the crowd for her set.
The DJ started with a quick mashup of rap songs to hype up the crowd, including Travis Scott’s “FE!N” and “Goosebumps.”
“If you big Sexyy’s biggest fan, make some motherf—— noise,” the DJ said. The crowd threw up their hands and screamed in response.

Sexyy Red entered the stage around 10 minutes later on the arm of a man with a tux, and immediately started singing “Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad).”
“Bow, bow, bow, bow,” the crowd screamed with Sexyy Red.
The jumbo screen focused on the backup dancers who effortlessly dance through the song, before switching to show Sexyy Red twerking to enthusiastic cheers.
Throughout the set, Sexyy Red didn’t dance — beside the occasional twerk — but she was still able to hold the crowd’s attention with her animated bars and heavy beats.
She performed “Hood Rats” next, rapping smoothly over the backing track, the bass resonating from the stage.
“Where the dread heads at?” Sexyy Red asked the crowd before playing “Shake Yo Dreads.”
The jumbo screens focused on Sexyy Red as she rapped into her pink microphone which matched the giant “Make America Sexyy Again” hat that adorned the stage.
She asked the crowd “Where the Chicago birthdays at?” before playing “Hellcats SRTs.”
“I Don’t Wanna Be Saved,” had the biggest crowd reaction with the crowd screaming “Don’t save me, I don’t wanna be saved,” in unison.
“Looking For the Hoes” and “SkeeYee” also proved to be crowd favorites.
“Aight’ let’s party with Sexyy,” said the DJ before switching it up and playing some 2000s throwback songs.
Though Sexyy Red is not known for her singing voice, she didn’t hesitate to sing along to “We are Young” by Fun. and “Party In the U.S.A” by Miley Cyrus — her energy high and her singing voice hoarse.
Another one of her more popular songs from her set, is “U My Everything,” which she did the TikTok dance to on stage.
“This song got me out of the trenches, so I would like all ya’ll to sing along with it,” Sexyy Red said, before performing “Pound Town.”
The crowd got hyped up, recognizing the familiar beat of one of her earliest songs.
“I love y’alll; get home safe,” Sexyy said before playing her final songs, “Sexyy Walk” and “Get it Sexyy.”
“Get it Sexyy, get it Sexyy,” the crowd screamed, their chants echoing across the field.
