“S P E Y S I D E” — Bon Iver
“S P E Y S I D E” is a slow-burning track delicately conveying a sense of vulnerability and longing. Stripped down to the elegant strum of the guitar and the warm melody of the viola, it creates an intimate atmosphere. The song is the first single from Bon Iver’s upcoming EP “SABLE,” the band’s first project in five years.
“WHOLESOME EVIL FANTASY” — Indigo De Souza
Indie rock icon Indigo De Souza dropped a surprise EP “WHOLESOME EVIL FANTASY,” which showcases a departure from her usual indie-rock territory. Instead, the EP dives into more of a hyper-pop sound, pulsing with electronic grittiness and chaotic experimentation. The songs create playfully unhinged electronic soundscapes, showcasing De Souza’s versatility as an artist.
“Screamland” — Father John Misty
“Screamland” is a soaring seven-minute ballad filled with lush orchestration and compelling lyrics. Feelings of despair permeate the track, as Father John Misty’s haunting vocals deliver verses filled with raw intensity. The song preludes the artist’s upcoming album “Mahashmashana,” which will be out Nov. 22.
“The Genuine Articulate” — The Alchemist
The Alchemist’s third album this year solidifies his status as one of the greatest producers of all time. Featuring frequent collaborators like ScHoolboy Q, Larry June and Havoc of Mobb Deep, the album is rich in sonic greatness. The eight tracks capture The Alchemist’s versatile production sound as he continues to push the boundaries of hip-hop.
“Orion” — Orion Sun
“Orion” by Orion Sun is a swirling, soulful album that highlights the artist’s signature R&B and indie-soul sounds. Her second studio album showcases her ability to craft rich soundscapes with her layered production and tender vocals.
“Hombre Roto” — St. Vincent
In a surprise move, St. Vincent announced a Spanish version of her latest record “All Born Screaming” and released its lead single “Hombre Roto,” a translated rendition of “Broken Man” from the original album. In her first Spanish-speaking song, she stays true to the rock melodies and meaning, while adapting to a new language. “Todos Nacen Gritando” will arrive Nov. 15
“Nightcall” — Kavinsky, Angèle and Phoenix
Kavinsky, Angèle and Phoenix teamed up to release the studio version of “Nightcall,” which they first played together at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The synth-driven electro track, featuring the new vocals of Angèle and Phoenix, evokes a sense of mystery and late-night driving.
“Una Velita” — Bad Bunny
Bad Bunny’s first solo release since his hit album “nadie sabe lo que va a pasar mañana” is a catchy track with a strong message. The song commemorates the recent seventh anniversary of Hurricane Maria and the polemic response to the disaster. In his now-iconic voice, Bad Bunny raps about the resilience of Puerto Ricans, the title translating to “a little candle.”
“Gary” — Blossoms
The English band is back with a new album, two years after their last release. “Gary” is full of the vibrant indie-rock sound that the band is known for. The eponymous title track captures the essence of the act, playful and synth-infused. Throughout the record, the band also features more nostalgic sounds and energetic moments, complete with their striking vocals.
