“cLOUDs” — J. Cole
J. Cole is back with a new single that shows that when he’s on his game, he’s still one of the best. In a surprise release and his first of 2025, Cole effortlessly crafts elaborate rhyme schemes, throwing around double and triple entendres with ease. Cole uses the track to reckon with age and the ever-changing world.

“Mavericks Arena” — Dorrough Music, MarkCutz
Weeks after Dallas’ league-shattering trade of superstar Luka Dončić, local Dallas rapper Dorrough Music crafted an arena anthem. The song has a fun beat and an earworm-y chorus that’ll make you say one word: “Mavericks!” Hopefully, this will be a worthy consolation prize for Dallas fans.
“They Left Me With The Sword” — Paris Texas
Coming in at a runtime of almost 20 minutes across eight songs, Paris Texas’ new EP might be short, but it packs a punch. The alternative rap group continues to innovate and grow with its sound. Particular highlights include “Dogma 25” and “infinyte,” which feature the group’s stylistic versatility.
“MARiO COINS” — IDK
“Slap the f— out of his face and take his Mario coins,” IDK sings on his newest single, as he comes out swinging for anybody and everybody. IDK emphasizes he does not respect those who are “broke.”
“Music to Refine To” — Theodore Shapiro ft. ODESZA
“Severance” is currently the most popular TV show on Apple TV, with one of its key features being its soundtrack. The show has teamed up with electronic duo ODESZA to remix the original score by Theodore Shapiro. It has a runtime of about 23 minutes and is perfect whenever you need to sort your macro data.
“Mega Circuit” — Japanese Breakfast
Yet another showcase for multi-hyphenate frontwoman Michelle Zauner, “Mega Circuit” is the second single off of the upcoming album “For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women).” The track places Zauner squarely in her element as a rockstar poet, a vivid and shuffling picture of the urban ennui that lent itself to earlier works like “Boyish” or “12 Steps.”
“Rearrange My World” — Daniel Caesar, Rex Orange County
Canadian R&B crooner Daniel Caesar teamed up with English jazz-pop singer Rex Orange County for “Rearrange My World,” a slow and sweet love song more understated than either artist has been in recent years. Simple keyboard chords and a soulful, harmonized chorus make this one of the more tender singles in recent memory — a stripped-down reminder of both singers’ unabashed romanticism.
“Best Guess” — Lucy Dacus
“Best Guess” arrives as the second single from boygenius’ Lucy Dacus in almost four years, a reflective and intimate piece about an uncertain relationship. Dacus’ low-key acoustic sound is as smooth as ever, with “Best Guess” offering a sample of what fans can expect with “Forever Is A Feeling,” her upcoming senior solo album.
“ExtraL” — JENNIE, Doechii
Stars collide with “ExtraL,” the latest collaboration between BLACKPINK superstar JENNIE and recently minted Grammy winner Doechii. “ExtraL” is a viciously fun hip-hop turn for JENNIE with a fantastic feature from Doechii, promising much more to come after this powerhouse debut.
“Everything Is Peaceful Love” — Bon Iver
Indie folk staple Bon Iver returns to its roots with “Everything Is Peaceful Love,” a refreshingly groovy mid-tempo ode to a prospective lover. “Everything is Peaceful Love” is the first single from Bon Iver’s upcoming album, “SABLE, fABLE.” The track seems to signal a return to the gentler, more philosophical sound that put Bon Iver in the public eye.
