The Spring Jam 2025 performer has been announced as American rapper Waka Flocka Flame.
The Illini Union Board announced their selected artist Thursday afternoon through Instagram. The Board teased multiple artists through their annual Spring Jam playlist, such as Beach Bunny, Declan McKenna, Keke Palmer, RAYE and others. Waka Flocka Flame was also teased by the Board as a potential Spring Jam performer last year.
The annual performance, hosted by the Board, Star Course Concert Committee, State Farm Center and Student Affairs, is free to all University students with an i-card. Past performances have included artists such as NLE Choppa, Sean Kingston, Yung Gravy and Lil Yachty.
Waka Flocka Flame reached fame with his 2009 single “O Let’s Do It (feat. Cap)” and his 2010 single “No Hands (feat. Roscoe Dash & Wale),” both from his 2010 album “Flockaveli.” The album debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200 chart. His more recent music includes his 2025 single “Hooked” and his 2024 drop “Donk 2.0.” Since “Flockaveli,” the rapper announced a presidential campaign bid in 2016, received an honorary doctorate in 2020 and released three albums in 2019.
Spring Jam 2025 will be held on the Main Quad on April 27 at 2 p.m.
