The 68th Grammy Awards aired Sunday night, celebrating musical artists for their work over the past year. Hosted by Trevor Noah for the sixth and final time, the ceremony featured emotional speeches, standout performances and sharp political humor.
Noah opened the night with his signature walk-through monologue, weaving between tables and chatting with artists. Politics were never far from the script, as Noah repeatedly poked fun at President Donald Trump. One joke referred to Nicki Minaj’s recent support for Trump, with an impersonation that drew laughs from the crowd.
This year also marked the end of an era, as the Grammys announced it would be leaving CBS after 54 years.
Highlight performances from Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and more kept the show moving. However, a standout stretch of performances came during the Best New Artist medley. Each nominee took the stage to show off their individual personalities, with winner Olivia Dean performing a classy rendition of “Man I Need.”
“I’m up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant,” Dean said through tears while accepting the award. “I’m a product of bravery, and I think those people deserve to be celebrated. … We’re nothing without each other.”

Several artists referenced the ongoing Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids and political climate in their acceptance speeches, with Billie Eilish delivering one of the most direct statements.
“No one is illegal on stolen land,” Eilish said.
In her speech, Eilish urged everyone to continue speaking out against the injustices happening toward immigrants. She and her brother, Finneas, wore an “ICE OUT” pin — a symbol that several artists also proudly displayed.
Kendrick Lamar once again proved his dominance in the music industry, winning Best Rap Album for “GNX” and Record of the Year with SZA for their song, “luther.”
The 2026 Grammys ultimately unfolded into a series of unscripted moments, from audience members accidentally blocking cameras when the show returned from commercial breaks to Cher briefly walking off stage before realizing she was supposed to present.
“I love live television,” Noah said with a smirk after this occurrence, a line that ended up summarizing the night.
Bad Bunny emerged as the emotional triumph of the night. After taking home Best Música Urbana Album for “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS,” he later won Album of the Year with the same project. The win was historic, making it the first all-Spanish-language album to earn the award.
Though contractually barred from performing due to his upcoming Super Bowl halftime show, Bad Bunny still found himself in the spotlight. Noah repeatedly tried — and briefly succeeded — in coaxing Bad Bunny into singing along from his seat.
Reba McEntire opened the “In Memoriam” segment of the ceremony with a warm rendition of “Trailblazer,” before the concert shifted into a rock tribute honoring Ozzy Osbourne, led by Post Malone. Lauryn Hill made a rare Grammy return, guiding a lively medley alongside other artists to celebrate music legends like D’Angelo and Roberta Flack.
Harry Styles presented Album of the Year to Bad Bunny, who sat in his seat with his head in his hands, seemingly holding back tears. The audience’s support was palpable.
“I want to dedicate this award to all the people that had to leave their homeland, their country, to follow their dreams,” Bad Bunny said.
