American indie-pop band TV Girl claimed the Bud Light stage on Saturday to perform various different songs from their discography.
The band originates from San Diego, California, and is made up of Brad Petering, Jason Wyman and Wyatt Harmon.
Though they have been making music for over 10 years, the band gained much of their popularity from TikTok, with several of their songs going viral. Their music is known for their experimental indie sound, interesting story themes and creative use of samples.
The first song the band played was “PantyHose.”
Although the audience was large, the crowd felt very stagnant, with most people chatting with their friends or taking pictures rather than paying attention to the song.

“PantyHose” immediately transitioned into “Hate Yourself,” a song about a woman with a heavy feeling of inadequacy who pines for the validation of anyone she can get.
“You,” lead singer Petering sang, his voice sounding more gravely than it did on the album. “You’d fall in love with anyone.”
If the audience knew the words, nobody really sang, besides people in the very front who were occasionally shown on the jumbo screens.
“Louise,” a song off of their 2014 album “French Exit,” was the next song they played.
Petering didn’t do much to captivate the crowd, his voice rang very monotonously as he gave off a very mediocre stage presence that did little to hold anybody’s attention.
Once the melody of “Cigarettes out the Window” began to play, the crowd cheered loudly and pulled out their phones recognizing one of the band’s more popular songs.
Petering delivered more energy during this song, jumping around the stage as he sang the familiar lyrics.
“Thank you,” Petering said as the song came to a close. “Thank you, good to see you, thanks for coming … We are going to do all the TikTok hits you know and love, all the fan favorites for the people on the right, and for the people way, way, back there, we’re going to do some songs people don’t even care about.”
The set started to pick up after Petering’s talk, the band diving into “Birds Don’t Sing” as he scooted across the stage in an effort to dance.
Petering occasionally takes a puff of his vape between songs as the band continues playing behind him.
Towards the middle of their set, a mix of the “Not Allowed” sample started to play, and the audience screamed with recognition.
The crowd sang the sample as Petering did a dance on stage and brought out special guest, Jordana, who has several songs with TV Girl.
“Thank you guys,” Petering said to the audience. “Thank you, you’re very kind … Say what you want about Bud Light … They make a mean stage, it’s sturdy, that’s good craftsmanship.”
He continued to indulge in some witty humor before continuing on to the next song, “The Night Time.”
The backup singers sang beautiful gospel sounding solos during the song as they gracefully danced behind their microphones, gaining cheers from the crowd
Petering expressed his appreciation for the crowd before heading into another one of the band’s popular TikTok songs “Blue Hair.”
True to their word, TV Girl played all the TikTok hits, the fan favorites and the songs nobody cared about.
