By Ethan Simmons, News Editor

The University will announce whether fall semester will have in-person classes sometime in mid-June, Chancellor Jones told alumni in a virtual town hall on Friday.

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District announced 10 more cases of the coronavirus in Champaign County on Monday, pushing the countywide total to 183 cases.

Of the 183 cases, 67 are active, 110 have recovered and six have died. Five people with active cases are currently hospitalized. Fewer than 5% of Champaign County’s 3,945 tests have proved positive.

County health officials recommend anyone with symptoms — fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, fatigue and loss of taste or smell — to get tested.

Confirmed cases of coronavirus as of May 4, 11 p.m. CDT
