WCIA and the Champaign Urbana Theater Company present the Tony Award winning musical RENT.
If follows a year in the lives of seven friends living the disapperaing Bohemian lifestyle in New York’s East Village. HIV/AIDS are a major theme in the musical.
RENT can be seen at the Virginia Theatre, 203 W. Park in Champaign, March 11-14. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday with 2:30 p.m. matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and $6 for Children 12 and under.
According to a press release from the Champaign Urbana Theatre Company, they will be holding a lottery rush for front row tickets. Each day, two hours prior to show time, people who arrive at the Virginia Theatre box office will have their names placed in the lottery. Thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for 23 front-row seats at $10 each. Patrons are required to bring a minimum of one can of food to be entered in the lottery, to help support the Eastern Illinos Food Bank.
