NEW YORK — Lindsay Lohan’s mother says her daughter’s treatment for addiction at the Betty Ford Clinic has been “life-changing.”
Dina Lohan says the world-renowned addiction center in Rancho Mirage, Calif., is “an amazing place” that has really dug into the “Mean Girl” actress’ problems and brought them to the surface. She said Lindsay, who was seen shopping on an approved outing over the weekend, is happy and relaxed.
Her mother said on NBC’s “Today” show on Monday: “She’s just a different person.”
Jail and rehab have failed for the actress in the past. She was sentenced to stay at Betty Ford until early January.
Lohan’s interview with Matt Lauer was far less contentious than a similar one with Lauer this summer, and much shorter.

LOS ANGELES — Actress Shannen Doherty appeared on “Dancing With the Stars” last season to honor her father, who had recently suffered a stroke.
On Sunday, she issued a statement saying John Thomas Doherty died Friday at age 66 after a series of health issues.
Shannen Doherty was eliminated from “Dancing” in March after just one week of competition. But she considered her stint on the show a success because her father was in the audience, watching her perform.
“I did it for my dad,” she said at the time.
In the statement, issued through her publicist, Shannen Doherty called her father the “greatest man in the world.”
She added: “I love him with every inch of my being and cannot imagine life without him.”

LOS ANGELES — Court records show a photographer has settled his lawsuit against Chris Brown claiming the singer’s bodyguards injured him.
Robert Rosen sued in May 2009, claiming he was seriously hurt at a gym after being chased by Brown’s bodyguards after snapping photos of the R&B; singer. Rosen’s attorney reported the settlement in a court filing Friday.
The incident happened roughly a month after Brown’s arrest in February 2009 for assaulting his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. The 21-year-old singer remains on probation for the attack.
Rosen’s attorney, Andrew Bryman, declined to comment through a receptionist. Brown’s attorney, Thomas M. Phillips, didn’t immediately return a phone message.
The settlement was first reported by celebrity website RadarOnline.com.
