I have a confession to make. I love to clean — especially when it’s my room.
I realize that this isn’t the case for most other students. I’ve seen first hand what can happen to a room if it goes without cleaning for a prolonged period of time.
I’ve consulted one of the people I know with a perpetually messy room, my sister Alex, to get down to the root of the cause. Aside from a general dislike for cleaning, she said focusing long enough to actually carry out the chore she hates so much can be a problem.
So, with those non-cleaners in mind, I developed a plan to force focus and here’s what you do:
Take this cleaning playlist and organize it from your favorite song to least favorite song. When you are ready to take on the mess, press play.

The goal is to clean as quickly as possible so you don’t have to listen to the songs you hate, while also doing the chore you hate.
The playlist lasts about 40 minutes, but hopefully you won’t have to get even halfway through. Happy cleaning!
