McKinley Health Center
The McKinley Health Center distributes various on-campus resources for students, including free sexual health items. Alongside treating illnesses and providing physical check-ups, McKinley is a valuable resource for anyone in search of no-cost sexual health supplies.
Contraceptives: Condoms (latex and non-latex) and other sexual health supplies, such as lube and dental dams, are available at McKinley’s main location at 1109 S. Lincoln Ave. Students can also find these at various self-care stations across campus in areas such as the Illini Union, Grainger Engineering Library, the SDRP mail room and multiple cultural houses.
Plan B: University students are entitled to one free Plan B per semester, which can be obtained at McKinley’s main location. A second can be purchased for a discounted price. Anyone who has experienced sexual violence can receive a second for free.
Pregnancy tests: McKinley offers free pregnancy test kits twice a semester at its primary location. Yeast infection treatment kits, assorted allergy treatment packs and cold care products are also provided.

Women’s Resources Center
The Women’s Resources Center offers multiple sexual health resources to the student population, from material items to workshops and advising sessions. All students can stop by on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sexual health materials: The WRC offers assorted sexual health supplies for free to students, including condoms (internal and external) and themed sexual health bags during specific events.
Confidential advising: Campus members can schedule an appointment by calling the WRC, emailing or stopping by during open hours. Confidential advisors at the WRC are not required to report anything to the University and can help survivors of sexual abuse or harassment decide what steps to take next. The WRC also has scheduled confidential advising hours at the University’s cultural houses.
Survivor resources: Resources for survivors at the WRC include workshops and a “survivor strategies” support group for survivors of sexual violence. Workshop topics vary, with themes including healthy relationships, bystander intervention and healthy ways to set boundaries. Students can also request themes.
Gender & Sexuality Resource Center
The Gender & Sexuality Resource Center provides services targeted at queer people on campus to create a space of inclusivity and acceptance. Like the WRC, Student Affairs runs the GSRC.
Consultations and referrals: LGBTQ+ people on campus can use a confidential forum provided by the GSRC to discuss campus climate with the goal of reducing discrimination and harassment. Campus members can also use the GSRC to be referred to services on campus for any problem they face related to their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Discussion series: The GSRC hosts panels and discussion series to create a safe space on campus. These include Quench, which focuses on the intersection of social and LGBTQ+ issues, and Speaking Queerly, a series of panel discussions centering around issues in the LGBTQ+ and transgender communities.
Resources for transgender students: Transgender students or campus members can refer to the GSRC for assistance in changing their legal name, using a preferred first name or obtaining gender-inclusive housing.
