County clerk talks election issues

After local elections Tuesday, Champaign County Clerk Mark Shelden acknowledged that voters in some places ran into difficulties at the polls and viewing results on the Web.

Shelden said those looking for results on the county clerk’s Web site saw delays due to technical issues.

“The Web site went down yesterday. We had problems getting it back up and getting the results posted,” Shelden said.

He added that some voters may have had to deal with a ballot shortage when they went to cast their vote Tuesday.

“I know we had to bring ballots out to 3 precincts,” Shelden said.
