The Sixth Annual Unity March organized by Champaign Urbana Citizens for Peace and Justice (CUCPJ) will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 at noon.
The march is focusing on the inadequate supply of healthcare, food, and housing for the needy in Champaign County, according to a press release from Neil Parthun, IEA Region 9 Grassroots Political Activist. The group is looking to bring about support from the community and to provide basic human rights to the needy, Parthun said.
The march will start at the Champaign City Building in downtown Champaign. From there it will go down University Avenue to the Courthouse Plaza in Urbana for a rally, Parthun said.
