Former head of the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District Vito Palazzolo was indicted on theft and official misconduct charges last week.
A Champaign County jury returned the seven-count felony indictment and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The charges against Palazzolo are theft of governmental property, official misconduct and misapplication of funds.
He is accused of using a health district credit card for personal use that included buying a pick-up truck and big-screen TVs.
He was fired in August 2007 after being with the health district for 17 months.
