Nancy Clinton, principal of Urbana Middle School, announced her retirement, effective July 1, 2010.

Before her position at UBS in 2002, Clinton was principal in Unit 4 schools and served as an educator in Illinois and Arizona. Clinton is proud of the Content Area Literacy course as well as the Summer Math Achievement program that was developed to lead minority students to higher level math courses and hopefully furthered their academic education through high school and college. UBS made Adequate Yearly Progress under the federal No Child Left Behind Act this year.

While Clinton wishes to take some time for herself, she plans to return to the education field at some point. District 116 has begun its search for Clinton’s successor.
