Jeshaun Manning-Carter, the 16-year-old youth with Kiwane Carrington on Oct. 9, will be in court Tuesday Jan. 19 at 2pm in courtroom C of the Champaign County Courthouse.

Manning-Carter is charged with felony resisting of a peace officer on the day Carrington was shot and killed. The confrontation stemmed from a reported possible break-in. Carrington’s case was later ruled an accident on Dec. 9 by the State’s Attorney Report.

CU Citizens for Peace and Justice delivered a petition with 377 signatures to the State’s Attorney this morning. The digital petition at the time of this posting listed 385 signatures and can be accessed at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/dropthecharges/.
