According to Illinoishomepage.net, 51-year-old Gabriel Omo-Osagie, landlord for Gabe’s Place, was pronounced dead by Champaign County Coroner Duane Nothrup on Feb. 27. His death is still under investigation.
A shooting occurred on Saturday night at his rural home north of Urbana. An autopsy is set for today. Omo-Osagie attended the University from 1986 to 1989 and was a native of Nigeria.
According to the News-Gazette, his wife Stephanie Bond is in critical condition at Carle Foundation Hospital with gunshot wounds to the leg, as of Sunday night. Champaign County sheriff’s detectives believe the shooting was related to a domestic dispute.
Gabe’s Place has properties across campus including houses at 1103 and 1105 S. Busey Ave. and apartment complexes at 202 E. John St. and 610 E. Stoughton St. The business office is located at 123 W. Main St. in Urbana.
