The llinois Sustainable Technology Center, or ISTC, a division of the Institute of Natural Resource Sustainability of the University, has recently appointed a new director, Manohar Kulkarni, professor at the University of North Dakota, to start May 1.

“We are thrilled with his experience, his expertise and his knowledge of energy systems in particular,” said Gary Miller, associate executive director at the Institute of Natural Resource Sustainability.

Miller, who was interim for the position, said former director George Vander Velde had retired from the position and that Kulkarni will be a good fit.

The ISTC is an agency that promotes sustainability through performing research, spreading awareness and facilitating implementation regarding different practices.
