The Champaign Police Department reported an accident on the intersection of Elm Street and Springfield Avenue at 10:46 p.m. Thursday. The report indicated a man allegedly fled from Urbana police officers during an attempted traffic stop.

A vehicle was traveling westbound on University Avenue before colliding with a car at the intersection of Elm Street and Springfield Avenue. The male suspect and female victim were sent to Carle hospital for treatment, where the female victim died.
