Champaign City Council is seeking to consider future budget cuts if necessary for the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year Budget, according to the City of Champaign Financial Planning for the Future Press Release. The council has named this the Contingency Planning Process.
“We are asking the entire City organization to participate in a process to review our services, to find opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies that will help us continue to deliver quality services and remain financially strong,” said City Manager Steve Carter in the press release.
The goal of this planning is to decrease the gap between rising costs and declining revenue while continuing to provide quality services.
Proposals for the Contingency Planning Process will be reviewed on November 10, 2010. The public will have access to the proposals through the City of Champaign Web sit and CGTV.
