With Halloween fast approaching, students are wondering how to get involved in this holiday’s festivities. Champaign-Urbana and nearby towns offers numerous events in the spirit of Halloween.

A Nightmare on Walnut St.: This event, held by Indi Go Artist Co-Op and Class Act, will feature Halloween themed parties beginning Saturday, Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. This includes a haunted house, 18 and over party and a dance party. Downtown Trick-or-Treat: For students looking to get in touch with their inner kid again, over 15 downtown Champaign businesses will be providing treats. This includes handmade cake truffles from the popular Cakes on Walnut, 114 N. Walnut St., Champaign. Trick or treating begins Oct. 30 from 12-6 p.m.

Mystery at the Museum: For those fear seekers, The Orpheum Children’s Museum will host a haunted house Oct. 29 through Oct. 31 from 4 p.m. to 10. Groups of five to ten people will be led through the haunted house by archeologist guides. The haunted house is $10 for adults. Stories from the Other Side: On Saturday, Oct. 30, the Spurlock Museum will feature ghost stories for adults only beginning at 7:30 p.m. Local story tellers Dan Keding, Kathe Brinkmann and Kim Sheahan will speak as well as University members. The Scream Haunted Adventure: For those students looking to go off campus for some Halloween freights, Decatur offers a haunted house and haunted warehouse tour. According to the Web site, this haunted adventure was voted one of the top 10 haunted events by hauntedillinois.com. The event is open from 7 p.m. to 11 through Oct. 31.
