Champaign
- Theft of over $300 was reported on the 100 block of North Walnut Street at the Esquire Longue on Sunday afternoon. According to the report, the victim’s camera was stolen sometime around 7 p.m. Oct. 23.
- Theft of $300 and under was reported on the 00 block of East University Avenue at the Illinois Terminal on Saturday evening. According to the report, the victim’s bicycle was stolen from the bike rack.
- Burglary from a motor vehicle was reported on the 100 block of East Green Street on Monday evening. According to the report, an unknown suspect cut open the top of the convertible vehicle and then entered and disturbed the contents. Nothing was reported as stolen from the vehicle.
- Residential burglary was reported on the 200 block of North Fourth Street on Saturday afternoon. According to the report, unknown suspects stole a furnace unit from the vacant residence.
- A 27-year-old male, a 20 year-old male and a 25-year-old male were arrested for possession of cannabis on the 00 block of Third Street on Sunday. According to the report, the 27-year-old male who was driving was pulled over for improper use of signal. The 25-year-old passenger was also found to have a valid warrant.
- Armed robbery and aggravated assault was reported on the 900 block of North Walnut Street at Beardsley Park on Monday morning.According to the report, the 23-year-old victim was chased by two suspect to the park, where he was shot in the hand as the suspects attempted to rob him.
Urbana
- A 32-year-old male was arrested for possession of cannabis on the 700 block of South Goodwin Street on Sunday. According to the report, officers made contact with subjects sitting in a parked vehicle and observed cannabis sitting in the offender’s lap.
- Aggravated battery and discharge of a firearm was reported on the 1200 block of West University Avenue at Perkin’s Family Restaurant on Sunday morning. According to the report, one offender struck a victim in the mouth with a pistol, then the other fired two rounds into the business, almost striking victims.
University
- An 18-year-old male from Urbana was arrested for obstructing justice and not having a valid driver’s license at the intersection of Green Street and Goodwin Avenue, in Urbana, on Tuesday. According to the report, an officer stopped the offender’s vehicle because it did not have operating brake lights. Once the vehicle had stopped, the offender switched seats with the front-seat passenger, police said.
- An 19-year-old male from Sidney, Ill., was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident shortly at 2200 S. First St., Champaign, on Monday. According to the report, he had been involved in a collision at First Street and Gerty Drive, in Champaign.
