On Monday, the Planned Parenthood of Illinois board, including President and CEO Carole Brite, and the local branch of Planned Parenthood of Illinois’ Teen Awareness Group helped kick off the remodel of the Planned Parenthood health center at 302 E. Stoughton St.

According to a press release, the budget for the remodel is $2.3 million, and the center will be able to expand services and the patient base.

“With the passage of national health care reform, we anticipate a surge in our patient base as many more individuals gain access to our services through national and state health programs,” Brite said in a press release. “The remodeling will ensure that we have the capacity to continue to meet critical health care needs in and around Champaign County.”
