Brian Keith Maze, 23, was arrested shortly before 11 p.m. on Jan. 16 for aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Earlier that night, he approached the 31-year-old female victim, displayed a handgun and threatened to shoot the victim on North Harvey Avenue. The victim called 911 and the offender fled. Maze was later located running armed near King School park area in Urbana.

He resisted arrest and was placed in the squad-car where he repeatedly kicked the inside of the car, until a nylon restraint was put around his ankles. The damage is estimated to be about $500.

Maze was also found in possession of cannabis.

A court date for Maze has not yet been set.
