A Danville resident died early Monday morning after being shot in an Urbana building complex.

Kevin A. Jackson, 24, died after being transported to Carle Foundation Hospital following the shooting at 2000 S. Philo Rd.

Urbana police and patrol officers responded to the reports of shots being fired inside the building at about 12:31 a.m. The officers discovered the victim of the shooting down in a doorway of the complex.

The investigation for the crime is currently being conducted by the Champaign County Coroner’s Office and the Urbana Police Department, according to the press release.
