After pilot Daniel Folk crashed into an Urbana home yesterday whilst landing his private plane, he was rushed to Carle Foundation Hospital. When The Daily Illini called the hospital at 9:40 a.m. today, a Carle spokesperson said “he has been treated and released.”
Meanwhile, Steven and Brenda Rice, the owners of the home that was damaged from the plane crash, have yet to clean up the debris.
“The plane is still in my yard,” said Brenda Rice. “Damages I have no way of knowing. All I know is my insurance company is sending a structural engineer.”
Rice said she thinks she won’t have to pay for damages in the long run.
“I’m thinking I’m not paying anything,” Rice said. “I’m gonna pay something now, but I think I’m going to get reimbursed.”

The pilot has yet to discuss damages after the plane crash with the Rice family.
“I’m hoping the damage is easily rectified,” Rice said. “Then the rest is going to be landscape and the fence.”
The Rice family continues to give thanks as they wait for damages to be assessed.
“Somebody up above was looking out for my husband, and myself and my two golden retrievers,” she said.
