The Champaign Tea Party will protest outside of the Comfort Inn Suites, 2001 N. Lincoln Avenue, in Urbana at 10 a.m. on Thursday, where 39 Indiana Democrats are currently staying to protest a floor vote in the House.
The Indiana Democrats fled to Urbana on Tuesday, matching their Wisconsin counterparts who are boycotting the House until Republicans promise they won’t debate public education and anti-union measures the Democrats are opposing.
Indiana Democrats have said they will stay at the Urbana Comfort Suites until House Speaker Brian Bosma promises that the bills will not be called down in the House at any time this session.
