A winter storm watch for Champaign-Urbana has been issued, in effect from Thursday evening through late Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.
5 to 7 inches of snow may accumulate during that time, along with winds gusting at 15 to 20 miles per hour.
Rain will develop on Thursday and will change into heavy snow by the evening. Roads will be slick and hazardous with the heavy, wet snow and travel will be dangerous during that time.
