City staff will address the status of Tax Increment Financing, or TIF, districts at the Urbana City Council Committee-of-the-Whole meeting on Monday. No action will be taken at this time.
Also to be discussed is a resolution to use TIF funds for internal engineering on TIF district development projects. External engineering would have cost the city more money and those inside the city already have familiarity with the projects, said Ward 2 Eric Jakobsson.
Another resolution will also be discussed concerning the resurfacing parts of Lincoln Avenue, Springfield Avenue and Park Street using $650,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds.
An ordinance regarding the reallocation of older carryover funds in order to make more permanent housing available for those residents who have mental health disabilities, are homeless, or are living in transitional supportive housing. Jakobsson said this is most likely an adjustment necessary due to the state of the economy.
Before adjournment, a closed session on property acquisition issues will occur.
