A 21-year-old UI student was hit by two vehicles around 11 p.m. on Friday while crossing University Avenue, near McCullough Street. Bradley Bunte was crossing University against traffic when a van clipped him, knocking him to the ground. A second van then ran him over.

Shortly afterward, Bunte was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital where he remains in critical condition as of Saturday afternoon

Sgt. Andrew Charles of the Urbana Police Department said that no tickets have been issued to the drivers of the vehicles, and that the investigation is ongoing.
