Champaign
- Residential burglary and forgery was reported on the 400 block of East Chalmers Street on Wednesday around 3:45 p.m. According to the report, two checks were stolen and fraudulently deposited into an unknown bank account.
- Three counts of battery were reported at the Firehaus Restaurant and Bar, 708 S. Sixth St., on March 25 around 11:40 p.m. According to the report, three female subjects were involved in a physical altercation.
- Criminal damage to property was reported on the 600 block of East Green Street on Monday shortly after 4 p.m. According to the report, an unknown suspect broke a window of a business.
- Criminal defacement of property was reported at Bikeworks, 1103 W. Main St., on Tuesday shortly before 4:30 p.m. According to the report, an unknown offender used red spray paint to vandalize the side of the business. A red spray paint cap was located nearby and seized as evidence.
Urbana
- A 50-year-old male from Urbana was arrested for criminal trespass to state-supported property on the 1400 block of West Gregory Drive at 4:16 a.m. Thursday. The offender was stopped by police to investigate his pickup truck’s load of scrap metal and was found to be in violation of a previously issued no-trespassing letter.
University
- Theft was reported at the Undergraduate Library, 1402 W. Gregory Drive, at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, a student’s laptop, valued at $1,200, was taken from his cubicle when he left it for five minutes to use the restroom.
- A 20-year-old University student from Champaign was arrested for delivery of 30 grams and under of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia on Sunday. According to the report, the student was issued a notice to appear on March 16 at about 11:30 p.m., when full cans of beer were thrown from atop 309 E. Green St. When officers investigated, they encountered a strong odor of burnt cannabis in an apartment that they were granted access to enter. The subject cooperated with police and was not arrested at the time of the incident but was issued a state notice to appear when he returned to the police station as requested.
