The National Weather Service is warning of hazardous weather for most of today and tonight in Central Illinois, with possible storms into the weekend.

Low-pressure systems from the central plains into the southern Great Lakes will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the area by late Thursday afternoon and night. A few of the storms may strengthen, accompanied by moderate-sized hail.

A small chance for thunderstorms will remain in the area on Friday and Saturday, and a “vigorous” storm system will increase the chance of thunderstorms by Sunday night.
