Green Street will be partially closed for one week beginning Tuesday to allow workers to clean up debris that remained in Mia Za’s Cafe after the fire.
Weather permitting, the eastbound lane of Green Street between Sixth and Wright streets will be closed, although all businesses in that area will remain open, said Pat Dorsey, president of Petry-Kuhne Company.
The restaurant is taking the first step toward redesigning the place by clearing debris left from the ceiling of the third floor and the roof, Dorsey said. This process allows allow architects to suggest infrastructure improvements to the restaurant so it meets building codes.
