One of the biggest draws to the Taste was Zorba’s Restaurant, which made its comeback after the main restaurant burned down in the spring, along with Mia Za’s and the clothing store Pitaya. Zorba’s workers at the event said the restaurant plans to reopen its storefront on Green Street this fall. Several people said Zorba’s drew them to the Taste.
Matthew Wisnewski, a cook at IHOP, said he had been a regular at the restaurant for the past 20 years. He said he would go to Zorba’s on Mondays, his day off. He also introduced his wife, April, to the restaurant.
“We’ve been missing our Zorba’s quite a bit, so we had to (come to the Taste),” he said. “I can’t get enough of that giant chicken gyros.”
