Champaign’s mayoral candidates are taking different approaches on election day. On Tuesday, Don Gerard stopped at hot spots in Champaign while Jerry Schweighart prepared for the city council meeting that night.
The University’s Department of Finance in the College of Business will host Money Smart Week, an event geared toward helping community members manage personal finances. This annual event, which is sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, will hold multiple presentations from April 2-9 at various locations including public libraries. Representatives from banks and other colleges will host workshops, too.
Google announced today it would provide Kansas City with Internet access more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have today. Champaign-Urbana was in the running for the Google Fiber project but was not selected as the awarded city.
