As sibling city Champaign faces cuts in spending, chances are Urbana may be following in its footsteps, as will be discussed in a financial report given by Ron Eldridge, city comptroller, at Urbana City Council’s regular meeting Monday night.

According to a press release, officers received a call at approximately 7 a.m. on Friday from the City of Champaign Building, 102 N. Neil Street.

Provena Health and Resurrection Health Care are exploring a merger that would make it the largest Catholic health care network in the United States. The two health care systems have signed a non-binding Letter of Intent to explore the possibility merging, according to a press release.

All lanes of traffic on University Avenue are closed between Neil and Walnut Street in order to safely clear the sidewalks on the south side of the Champaign City Building, a press release said.
