Twenty-one year old Parkland graduate James Stewart used to go to the 4th of July parade and fireworks every year when he was younger. But for him, some of the festivities have now lost their appeal.
The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (CUMTD) board unanimously approved several resolutions Wednesday, including the operations budget for the fiscal year that began Thursday, as well as an agreement with T.Y. Lin International, an infrastructure consulting firm, to study bus and bicycle safety in Champaign-Urbana.
Joining the many other special events going on during this time of the year, a festival celebrating the local lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and ally, or LGBTQA, community is being organized for later in the summer.
