Urbana
- Circle K, 809 W. Green St., reported retail theft Saturday evening.
According to a police report, an unknown offender drove off without paying for gasoline.
No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
- A 43-year-old man reported theft at the 900 block of North Lincoln Avenue Friday morning.
According to a police report, the man went to breakfast and when he returned, his wallet, along with money and identification items, had been stolen.

- A 34-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance at the 1100 block of Cunningham Avenue Friday afternoon.
According to a police report, the man was stopped for a traffic violation when a strong odor of alcohol was detected. The man failed sobriety testing and cannabis was located in his vehicle on a search subsequent to his arrest.
- A 47-year-old man reported assault at the 100 block of West University Avenue Friday afternoon.
According to a police report, the man is a gas station employee. An unknown offender threatened the man from less than two feet away and said he would return to the gas station to confront the man.
No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
- A 17-year-old girl was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of narcotics at Wal-Mart, 100 S. High Cross Rd., Thursday morning.
According to a police report, the girl was asleep in her vehicle parked in the store’s lot. After approaching the vehicle, crack cocaine was seen and the girl was arrested. After searching the vehicle, open alcohol and other paraphernalia was found. The girl admitted to drinking and smoking crack prior to driving on the roadway.
- Centrue Bank, 1708 S. Philo Rd., reported deceptive practices Friday morning.
According to a police report, a 38-year-old man deposited a counterfeit check in his account at the bank Jan. 18. The man withdrew all the money posted to his account before the bank found the check to be counterfeit.
No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
- A 20-year-old woman reported battery at the 1600 block of North Lincoln Avenue early Saturday morning.
According to a police report, officers were called to a large fight at an apartment complex. Apartment security had deployed pepper spray to break up the fight and the offenders fled before officers arrived on the scene.

- A 44-year-old man reported criminal damage to his property at the 1600 block of Willow Road Saturday morning.
According to a police report, an unknown offender opened the man’s front door and damaged it.
No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
University
- A 20-year-old man reported he had been manipulated over the weekend.
According to a police report, the man said he was tricked into paying $662 for clothing, food and lodging for a couple staying at the Lincoln Lodge Motel, 403 W. University Ave. The man said the couple claimed they were stranded on campus and needed assistance.
The man paid for four nights’ lodging and then became suspicious and contacted police after he learned that an Urbana church had purchased bus tickets for them to travel to another state.
No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
- A resident of Scott Hall, 202 E. Peabody Drive, reported theft sometime over the weekend.
According to a police report, an unknown offender stole a $25 gift card from a birthday card mailed to the woman by a relative. The woman, who received the card Thursday, said the envelope had been opened, the card removed and the envelope taped closed before she received it.
No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
- A 22-year-old woman was cited for disobeying a police officer at the 1600 block of South First Street Saturday evening.
According to a police report, the woman struck an officer directing traffic near Assembly Hall. The officer was struck in the left knee but was not hurt.

- The Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright St., reported theft Thursday evening.
According to a police report, a student left the store without paying for a $42 textbook that had been ordered for him.
No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
