Bob Saget reflects on new comedy show and movie

By Blake Stubbs

Last Semester CU-Weekend had a chance to talk to Bob Saget right after the premiere of 1 vs. 100 on NBC. Since then, the show has garnered critical success and boomed in the ratings. This week, we had a chance to catch up with Saget again and since 1 vs. 100 has hit its stride he’s finally adjusted to being a “game show host.”

“I really love doing it and I’m kind of a lame duck human being so for me to finally learn the rules is a major accomplishment.”

Saget’s memorable cameo as himself on the hit show Entourage stirred debaucherous rumors about his real life behavior. However, Saget laughs these rumors off, insisting he’s just a normal guy.

“No..No.No. Even when I was college age I wasn’t a partaker really of any consequence but I don’t uh. I mean I have children, and a girlfriend, an ex-wife, and a mother. I have Hall monitors around me all the time.”

Saget is also celebrating the release of Farce of the Penguins on DVD. The hilarious parody of March of the Penguins is fulfilling its original purpose.

“In hindsight it’s exactly what should have happened. We kind of fell upward with the movie because they can’t keep it in stock, it’s out of all the blockbusters and it’s selling out everywhere on amazon.com. We’re very excited that as many people are seeing it as possible-which the idea was to get the to college people as quick as you can and fifty yard houses wasn’t going to be the way to do that, and so it worked out really great, I’m really, really happy about it.

Farce of the Penguins is currently available on dvd, and 1 vs. 100 airs Fridays at 7 pm on NBC.
