Students for Chief Illiniwek will be holding a candlelight vigil tonight at the President’s Mansion, 711 W. Florida Ave, at 8 p.m.

According to the group’s Web site, the event is being held to raise awareness for the Chief. Students for Chief Illiniwek is also collecting signatures this week for a petition to add a referendum question to this month’s student election ballot that would reverse the Board of Trustee’s decision to retire the Chief.
